Updates
As of 3/24:
Hello students and Parents!
I have some more optional resources to share with you. Ms. Woolard, a fellow Math 2 Honors teacher, has shared some review materials and such on her website. If you are interested, you can reach her website here:
http://swoolardbhsmath.weebly.com/honors-math-2.html
Again, these materials are optional, and as of right now, nothing is being assigned for a grade. As soon as I know more about how grades are going to work and how they will be calculated, I will let you know. Stay safe and healthy, and if you need anything feel free to reach out via email or remind.
Best,
Mrs. Chapman

Dear Parents and students,
I hope you are doing well and are at home safe and healthy. Some of you are wondering what to do with your time while out of school. I do not know the future of our school year or how long we will be out of school. Please know I have no expectations of you at this time to complete any work or curriculum. I do not want to cause you any stress about any unfinished grades or assignments. Please always refer to messages from WCPSS for the most up-to-date guidance on school matters.
For those of you who would like to keep up with the math curriculum as we were intending to finish this semester, I can recommend learning, practicing, and self-assessing through Khan Academy. Please know this is not a requirement nor an approach to online schooling, but a suggestion in response to a parent request. You can proceed through the units at your own pace, and only if you choose to at all. Each unit has numerous video lessons, with accompanying practice, a quiz or two, and a unit test.
For Math 2 Honors:
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let me know! I will update you all as I know more and as time progresses, and as we find out more about how school and the semester will be handled. Until we know more, try not to stress and please do not let your Math work be any source of anxiety. We will figure this out and we will get through this with patience, kindness and grace. I hope you are all able to stay happy, healthy, and active while we all keep our social distance. Also, if anyone is in need of food, please see the plan from WCPSS.
If you need anything, feel free to email me at [email protected]
Much love and kindness,
Mrs. Chapman (:

For Math 2 Honors:
- We had just about wrapped up the similarity lessons of unit 7. The second half of unit 7 is Right Triangle Trigonometry and the Khan Academy unit can be found here. We would not teach the Law of Cosines, the Law of Sines, or Solving General Triangles so you may skip these topics.
- Our final unit, unit 8, is on probability and counting, accessed on Khan Academy. You may skip the topic called "Combinatorics and Probability."
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let me know! Below is the outline of the 8 units that we will have this year in Math 2:
Unit 1: Transformations & Symmetry
Unit 2: Congruence, Constructions & Proof
Unit 3: Quadratic Functions
Unit 4: Structures of Expressions
Unit 5: Solving Quadratics & Other Equations
Unit 6: Square Root & Inverse Variation Functions
Unit 7: Similarity & Right Triangle Trigonometry
Unit 8: Probability
